Upon further research, I have found several articles which detail the process of more advanced mixing for studio recordings. This involves panning of instruments, carving out frequencies in the EQ of certain instruments to allow others to cut through more easily, and getting the vocals to sit better in the mix. My project will most likely implement this knowledge in the form of a recording of an original song.
